Been vacuming for 40+ years and this is the best vacuum that I have owned so far. Dyson may want to consider including a comprehensive user manual. Mine came with only a few drawings for assembling and no description of how to use the tools that came with it. Had to go online to get that information. Converting it from floor to other types of cleaning looked like a no-brainer but I soon learned it wasn't if the pull-out tube wasn't absolutely, fully extended. An operator's manual would have helped.

We've only had this vacuum for a couple of weeks but we love it so far. I can't speak to the durability of the vacuum, but out of the box this thing is awesome! We vacuumed up more stuff than we were aware of on our floors. Our previous vacuum cleaner was horrible- it didn't pick up well. This vacuum had to be changed out 3 times per room to pick up all the dirt/dust. On subsequent cleanings, we didn't have to change it but once the entire time we cleaned. I don't know if that speaks to how dirty our floors were, or how much this vacuum can pick up.

It is a very powerful vacuum and picks up so much dust/dirt/animal hair.

Impossible to remove clogs Jul 25, 2010
We have two cats and we clean the filter on a regular basis, but it still gets clogged in the main filter area where the holes are small and impossible to get cleaned. We had to take it in several times due to clogging, motor, and other issues. It was not worth the hundreds of dollars we spent. It worked great for 6 months then had nothing but cloggnig problems. The design of how the dirt gets sucked in seemed to be on purpose. Do not buy this poorly designed vacuum.

I bought this product after a lot of people RAVED about it. I find it cumbersome, inefficient, and I ALWAYS have to clean out the spinner brush. I do have a golden retriever who sheds like crazy, but I thought my cheap vacuum surpassed this one by far. It is also very awkward for stairs and hard to reach places. I found this to be a waste of money, and would gladly take my cheaper vacuum any day of the week.

This vacuum cleaner is crazy great. Leaves the carpet looking like new. Picks up every drop of pet hair. I am astounded by how much it picks up every time we use it. Best vac we have ever had by a mile.
